GETTING STARTED

Teams are Microsoft's chat-based collaboration application. Onna connects directly with the Microsoft 365 API to gather channels from a Microsoft Teams account. This requires an Admin account from Microsoft teams.

INTEGRATION FEATURES

Files Collected

  • All messages from the channels

  • Metadata (Group ID, Members, Team ID channels, Attachment ID, Channel messages, Chat members)

TYPES OF SYNC MODELS

  • One-time sync: Onna will perform one-time sync that collects information from the source either during a specified time range or up until the date the source was added.

  • Auto-sync: Onna will perform a full sync from the data source first. Onna will keep the data source in mirrored sync. Any deletions from the data source will be deleted in Onna, as well.

  • Auto-sync & Archive: Onna will perform a full sync first and will continuously add any new files generated at the data source.

DATA EXPORTS

Yes, you can export data and metadata in eDiscovery ready format. Load files are available in a dat, CSV, or custom text file.

HOW TO START A MICROSOFT TEAMS COLLECTION

Once you're an admin in Onna and have Microsoft Teams Enterprise enabled, you'll see it available as a source in the user dashboard.

Once you click on Microsoft Teams Enterprise, it will open the following modal below. You can name the data source, set the sync mode, and start date/end date. Once you're done, click "Connect".

Then add in your Microsoft Team's domain > Once you've added the domain, click "Connect". Teams will ask for your permission to authorize Onna to access the account.

Click "Accept" to finalize the OAuth process.

After the OAuth process, you can choose which Accounts you'd like to sync. Depending on the sync mode selected at the beginning of the source creation, you can select whether you'd like to "Sync any user created in the future".

Once done click "Next" to move onto the User channels selection.

Once you've selected which accounts you want to sync, you can then choose which User channels you'd like to sync. Note: Onna does not collect private chats (DMs) from Teams Enterprise.

Depending on the sync mode selected at the beginning of the source creation, you can select whether you'd like to "Sync any team or channel created in the future".

Click "Done" to complete and begin the sync.

You can learn more about accessing and navigating the source's collection audit logs in this article.
