Getting Started

Jira is a project management and issue tracking platform used mainly by software development teams.  Onna directly connects with Jira's API to collect all information in native format.

For a short video overview of collecting from Jira, please see below:

Integration Features

What is collected?

All files are synced, including, but not limited to:

  • Issues, including description, name, creator, updater, status, type, progress, priority, resolution, due date, summary, components, original estimate, time spent, votes, issue links, and custom fields.

  • Attachments

  • Comments

What are your sync modes?

We currently support three syncing modes - one-time, auto-sync, & auto-sync and archive.

  • One-time is a one-way sync that collects information only once.

  • Auto-sync means that Onna will perform a full sync first and will keep the data source and Onna in mirrored sync.

  • Auto-sync and archive means that Onna will perform a full sync and archive the information collected. Onna will then automatically sync and archive any new information after the original sync.

Onna now supports the collection of multiple projects per connection.

Can you export the data?

Yes, you can export data and metadata in eDiscovery ready format. Load files are available in a dat file, csv, or custom text file.

What does the export look like?
We've compiled sample load files for our different integrations. Click on the link below to download a sample Jira export.

How to Guide

Click on "Add Source" and select Jira.

This will bring you to the following page:

Name your data source and enter the site's URL as the host, as well as your username and password. Click 'Connect'.

First, name your source. This is the source's title on the platform.

Enter the Jira site's URL as the host. You will also need to enter your credentials including your full username's email as well as an API token. To generate an Atlassian API token, follow the instructions here

If the site is not hosted on Atlassian, then select the option to log in with user and password.

You have the option to Confirm, which will auto sync all of the spaces or you have the option to Configure the synchronization settings.

If you choose to configure your collection,  select the projects(s) you would like to sync. You can use the letters to search for specific spaces alphabetically or use the text input box to search for it by typing it's name. To sync all, click 'Select all' in the top right hand corner.

You'll see the Jira data source appear in your sources.

Once you have clicked 'Confirm,' you will see this integration under your Sources page.  Onna will begin to interact with Jira's API and begin to sync files. Files will be processed and indexed so that all is searchable. A source will indicate that it's syncing during this process.

When you click on the Jira data source, you will start seeing results being populated.

Jira pages in Onna
Since natives are in html format, we take what Jira's API returns and format it like a ticket.
